You stand
You sit
Thinking one thing
Saying many things
It is just 3 words
.
You face yourself
You may know the truth
You may not know the reality
You can’t say it
Yet you must
Else the world will never be the same
But when you say it
Your own world can never be the same
.
Reactions can be many
But answers are only two – Yes Or No
The question is only one!
.
Finally, there are no more options
there is no more small talk
silence is exhausted
a pause
Heart thudding
Brain screaming
Time stops
The universe shrinks
You are alone with her
It is just 3 words
.
Once started, cannot be stopped
Once said, cannot be un-said
The hardest thing to say
Yet the most important
.
I, now no one can stop you..
love, the change has started..
you, it is now done!
It was just 3 words
.
Now comes the question
replies can be many
But there are only two answers
Yes Or No
Eyes lock
Hopes soar
It is one word
You hear the sound
before the word
Yes!
The answer you always wanted
Your prayers answered
Your life worth living again
It was again just 3 words
Yes! I do too
Now what?

There are many things that you can do to strengthen your relationships. Often the most effective thing you can do involves saying just three words.
I Miss YOu, I Respect YOu, Let Me Help, I Understand You,
, I Love You
Count on Me
welcome in,

Haha I like this! Very sweet with a happy ending! Good work
Aaah it sounded too nice to have any other ending. Thanks for taking the time to read through.
nice work… It is really hard to say those three words when you really mean them….
Thanks! It was fun writing this.
nice poem!
Pamela
Hey Pamela, thanks for dropping by. I’m glad you enjoyed.
Like reading your stuff too.
Awwww… that was very sweet!!! But not before it is done!

Been there myself ..
But after, time seems purposeless.. and everything fades into shadows of oblivion.. but then, like you said.. And now what?!
An awesome poem… apprehensions well projected! Super work, K!
and once again, ladies and gentleman, the most bubbly comment goes to Kavita…
oh been there..eh?
Thank you for an awesome comment. BTW I loved your poem. Your husband is very lucky, I guess he’s like..”oh man! Now how do I do better. They all love this poem. Got to get a more expensive gift for the anniversary”
Just kiddin’ have a wonderful anniversary you guys. (Now shouldn’t I post this in your blog)
That was just awesome….keep up your wonderful writing:) x
Thanks amanda. I’m really happy you enjoyed, one word was enough to let me know.
BTW I loved your spine chilling verses, do you read a lot of horror stuff? What inspired you?
I actually don’t read a lot of horror stuff, mostly I wake up in the middle of the night with an idea or something that had an influence in my life…it’s crazy the ideas that come to life in the quiet hours of the morning!!! What about you, where do you get your inspiration from …talented you ~ Hugs x
I’m actually not very creative, most of the stuff is about me, my feelings, life and people around me (as the blog heading says). I was actually surprised, at myself, when I wrote my first poem here. I’m getting used to it now, but still feel weird when someone says this is a poetry blog. It never started out like that.
But you guys are brilliant, you can make beautiful words on any subject. I’m afraid, after a while, my stuff may look all look the same to regular followers. But I’m learning a lot from you guys
I think you’re perfect just the way you are!!! It is wonderful to have you here amongst us….and dont ever feel that way!! You Rock…Mwah xxxx
WoW thanks! It is wonderful to know all of you. yaay..I rock!
there is nothing in the english vocabulary i find harder to say.
Than those three words.
This poem handled the matter masterfully.
Excellent job
Hey..thanks man!
Well said. I know it’s really hard saying that, damn ego keeps getting in the way
Lovely poem, saying those three words is hardest, but also easiest to misuse. It is painful hearing them said in vain. Yet when you really mean it, to get an answer as “yes, I do too” is the most wonderful feeling in the world. I like how you ended it, with that “And now what?”. Great poem!
We believe the event of saying in itself is the biggest challenge. But it is just the first big step, moving from inertia into motion. What comes after that is very important, the last line was a reminder to all about the oncomming commitment you have to now really understand from the haze of “I do too”.
Thank you for your words!
I think you are correct…you have written the first part of the story here, and very well, I might add, and I have written one version of the ending…
Your poem is lovely, and simply complicated…Bravo!
Tracy H
Your poem was powerful and heart rendering. Made me said, shows how well you write. Thanks for dropping by Tracy.
Hahaha. I love this poem. Simple, but good. Very good.
I like the ending.
Thanks ollin. It is a pleasure to bring a smile to you guys.Ah the ending, I was throwing a spanner at those guys who are basking in the glory of a ‘Yes.’
Great poem! Isn’t it amazing how long you wait for those 3 words to be said and how fast you want to say them but never know what the reaction of the other person will be, so we hesitate in saying it? But there is freedom in saying it and the joy it brings when someone receives it, makes the relationship worth it all. I enjoyed reading this and it was well thought out.
You said it. Thanks for this wonderful comment. I was trying to imagine myself and fellow men folk!
excellent poem friend, superbly written..
Thanks william. I’m happy you enjoyed. I liked reading your entry too.
You hear the sound
before the word
Yes!
Isn’t that the truth! You’ve captured the anticipation and butterflies fluttering perfectly. Much like your piece I believe people make a much bigger deal of love that needs be. But I do love those lines above. There is a stillness in the air when the first I love you’s are shared or the I do’s at a wedding. And these lines have captured just that. The silence of your heart of your breath and your hears strained to hear those words so far that they capture everything waiting for a response. You’ve done a great job with “Just 3 Words”
Thanks for an excellent analysis.
Here in India, it is very different, you have to propose to a girl before you can actually have a relationship or a marriage. Dating or anything similar is very uncommon. That is a lot of pressure here for the guys and for the girls who may go for a love marriage. Arranged marriages are still the norm in India. We tend to get married first and then fall in love.
Thanks for saying more than “Just 3 words”. Have a great day!
One of the best poems I read today! Great job.
Thank you for a wonderful comment. You made me really happy
Sorry for removing the post earlier. As soon as I realised that it also meant losing the link to your beautiful poem, and did another – not quite so depressing – post so people could find you from my blog again.
Much love and blessing to you and your girl.
x Lisa
No it was much better this way. People clicking on the link to my poem will be in a happy mode. Yesterday they would be apprehensive (they saw/read your state after reading this poem). Thanks so much for linking again. Your words are the best compliments for my efforts.

i like the way your imagination works
Sometimes it goes wild. But most times I love my imagination. Thanks for understanding that.
OMG you completely got me on the hook here.. I felt the blood rushing thru the veins and my heart beats rapidly!! An enjoyable read for an amazing writing.
Thank you. It was fun writing through this. Glad you liked it. Thank You for a wonderful comment.
“I, now no one can stop you..
love, the change has started..
you, it is now done!
It was just 3 words”
I always thought it’s a bit funny- we write books and stories, tales, sonnets and letters but it all boils down to this three simple words… Is it because we’re scared to say it straight? Or are we trying to convince the object of our love?
I think all the time we are trying to convince ourselves that it exists and this is it – the real deal!
Bahaha! So clever! Serious throughout yet so honest at the end, it’s comical. Well written
Well..It is very serious and yet quite funny (from third person point of view)

Great poem. The hardest three words for anyone…you have to wonder why.
Well…I think its ’cause we are afraid to show that we are weak…But saying these words means “Strength”. Thanks for your comment.
I think you’re right.
I have awards for you. Pass them on to 1 to 10 friends!
